Have you ever heard of the phrase "Summer Slide?" This phrase relates to the period of reduced academic growth during the summer months. Research indicates that during the summer vacation months, a summer reading program will help students gain reading proficiency levels. We can help prevent Summer Slide by incorporating just twenty minutes a day of reading during the summer months.
