Thursday, July 30, 2026: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (lunch from 12:00-1:00 PM)
Friday, July 31, 2026: All West ISD Campuses and Offices Closed
Monday-Friday, August 3-12, 2026: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (lunch from 12:00-1:00 PM); Note: Some back-to-school trainings will take place over these eight days that may involve all staff members.

2026-2027 Staff News

West High School Principal: The district is excited to announce the hiring of Mr. James Villa as the new West High School Principal. Mr. Villa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rockhurst University along with a Master of Arts from Tarleton State University. He has previously served as a Principal, Assistant Principal for Student Services, Cohort Assistant Principal, and Instructional Specialist for Technology in La Vega ISD. Prior to his time in La Vega ISD, Mr. Villa taught middle school science in Waco ISD. Before teaching, Mr. Villa served as a Squad Leader in the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). Mr. Villa is thrilled to be a part of the West ISD team and cannot wait to meet all of his new students and families.
